Master the Art of Mindfulness! Yandara's Meditation and Kundalini Yoga Retreat is open to all levels and is an elective part of our 300 hr Yoga Teacher Training. You will learn and experience various meditation and yoga techniques. Our in-depth curriculum is designed to offer an experience of heightened awareness and draws on the traditions of Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Tantra, Buddhism, Vipassana, QiGong, and more. This program is well suited to teachers and dedicated yogis who are looking to add depth to their practice. If you are already 200 hr certified, this program can be used towards Yandara's 300 hr advanced program. Students will experience a yoga lifestyle at Yandara's serene home campus with a secluded beach and natural setting known for bird watching, surfing and sun in Baja California, Mexico. Total All-Inclusive Cost: $1,550.00.

Monday - Saturday
- 6:30 AM to 7:15 AM: Practice and Instruction of meditation.
- 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM: Practice and Instruction of meditation in motion, including: Kundalini Yoga, Slow Yoga, and QiGong.
- 9:00 AM: Tea, papaya, banana, granola, oatmeal and boiled eggs.
- 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM: Teacher Training Practice and Instruction.
- 12:30 PM: Brunch: Delicious vegetarian meals are served buffet style. (fish and dairy may be served on occasion)
- 2:00 PM to 6:15 PM: Student Practice Teaching & Workshop and Communication/ Presentation Skills Workshop. Tea-break at 4:15pm.
- 6:15 PM: Dinner: Healthy and delicious vegetarian meals served buffet style. (fish and dairy may be served on occasion)
- 7:30 PM to 9:15 PM: Satsang: meditation, music, kirtan, yoga philosophy and discussion.
This program will give you the tools you need to become a masterful meditation and yoga practitioner. You will learn techniques from the 4 cornerstones of yoga and meditation: Energized Movement, such as Kundalini Yoga, QiGong, and Hatha Yoga to charge the body and breath; Present Moment Anchoring to still the mind; Focused Intention to find clarity; and Sound and Mantra to take the mind to a state beyond the ordinary.
During this retreat and teacher training we will explore techniques from the Kundalini Yoga tradition. Along with focusing on physical postures, Kundalini Yoga is designed to awaken and organize energy to bring you to a state of greater awareness. It includes energizing movement, powerful breath-work, heart-opening chants, and many sweet and deeply relaxing moments in between. Kundalini Yoga will add depth to your practice and to your life. In the process of expanding awareness, we will lovingly attend to our shadows through reevaluating outdated limiting thoughts and beliefs.
Even in the yoga world, some consider Kundalini yoga a bit strange. While Hatha Yoga is mainly focused on the physical practices, Kundalini Yoga includes postures, as well as the more subtle techniques of breath, mantra, mudra, and meditation. Originally, Hatha Yoga was aimed at students who could withdraw from normal life and spend years studying yoga in remote locations. The beauty of Kundalini Yoga is its effective way to reach physical, mental and spiritual balance. The purpose of Kundalini Yoga and Hatha Yoga is the same: to raise awareness. The only difference is that Kundalini Yoga offers a more direct path, making it an excellent practice for householders.
As an enhancement to your teacher training, we are offering Reiki Level I and II Certification on consecutive afternoons during the Baja yoga teacher trainings. Click the "Reiki" page for details.
RequirementsPrerequisite: We welcome all yoga students/teachers who are interested in enhancing their yoga and meditation skills. If you have previously completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance approved teacher training, you will be able to use this training towards Yandara’s 300hr advanced program.
Contact hours: 90 hours
Non-contact hours: 10 hours (fulfilled by home study projects)
Preparatory Study: Purchase and read ”Vedantic Meditation” by David Frawley, and "Essential Kundalini Yoga" by Karena Virginia and Dharm Khalsa.
The program is limited to 22 students ensuring personal care and attention.
At our Baja, Mexico location we offer a few different choices for accommodation.
Deluxe TentsThe majority of yogis that attend our Teacher Training choose to stay in our deluxe tents. These are big tents that most people are able to stand up in. Each tent has a normal twin size bed and mattress, a small set of drawers and a lamp. Bed linens are provided, but we do not provide a bath towel. Comfortable and yet still close to nature. We like to call it luxury camping. For couples we can offer a larger tent with a larger bed. We have 6 bathrooms and 5 showers on our campus.
The Yandara cabana has a full size bed. This cabana does have a private bathroom.
